<a class="button white" href="http://thepolishwell.blogspot.com/p/copyright.html">Purchased By Me</a></div>
<br />
It is finally the weekends!!! The past week has been hell at work and I clocked late nights almost everyday. Heck, I even camped over in the office last Thursday till 5am before I left for home >< I had to work over last weekend too! To top that off, my dearest macbook breathed its last on Sunday which left me extremely devastated. Although I got myself a new macbook, all my files were not backed-up so I will have to get someone to help me retrieve them T_T<br />
<br />
Bad news aside, I am most excited to share with you these beauties which I have swatched before all hell broke loose:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<b>Mirror of Dawn.</b> 3 thin coats.<br />
A soft steel grey with an ethereal golden sheen and a most delicate linear holo. Heart-achingly beautiful. I love the name too.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-d8uYO1p327M/U67VpI0ckcI/AAAAAAAADJ4/dIZloEdAtNM/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-deepstone.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-d8uYO1p327M/U67VpI0ckcI/AAAAAAAADJ4/dIZloEdAtNM/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-deepstone.jpg" height="604" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Deepstone.</b> 2 thin coats.<br />
A dusty warm purple holo with a similar golden sheen. If this isn't royal, I don't know what is. Love!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cn9dt8g7L4Y/U67VuIXAi2I/AAAAAAAADLI/Rj3dVU5zfm8/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-ruby-hare.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cn9dt8g7L4Y/U67VuIXAi2I/AAAAAAAADLI/Rj3dVU5zfm8/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-ruby-hare.jpg" height="576" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Ruby Hare.</b> 2 thin coats.<br />
A rich maroon holo with a golden-pink sheen. I just can't... <3 I need to take more English classes to expand my vocabulary.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ki4jh7SdsvI/U67VuwyHIcI/AAAAAAAADLM/nnxfPBaoQvA/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-starfall.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ki4jh7SdsvI/U67VuwyHIcI/AAAAAAAADLM/nnxfPBaoQvA/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-starfall.jpg" height="594" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Starfall.</b> 2 thin coats.<br />
A blue-purple holo with a pink-violet shimmer. Gorgeous colour with a beautiful name to match too!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xjT5fYj-4qQ/U67VpEUvl_I/AAAAAAAADKA/V5tmQhcEUsU/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-burning-dusk.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xjT5fYj-4qQ/U67VpEUvl_I/AAAAAAAADKA/V5tmQhcEUsU/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-burning-dusk.jpg" height="608" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Burning Dusk.</b> 3 thin coats.<br />
A warm-violet base filled with aqua blue shimmer and linear holo. The contrast between the base and the shimmer? They are just meant to be <3<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZGEncYBEdgI/U67VpG7G34I/AAAAAAAADJ8/S05cY5O-Sv0/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-glassweb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZGEncYBEdgI/U67VpG7G34I/AAAAAAAADJ8/S05cY5O-Sv0/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-glassweb.jpg" height="622" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sD20Uni2xmw/U67Vq0fc5TI/AAAAAAAADKQ/wtxME0faIxQ/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-glassweb1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sD20Uni2xmw/U67Vq0fc5TI/AAAAAAAADKQ/wtxME0faIxQ/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-glassweb1.jpg" height="542" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Glassweb.</b> 3 thin coats.<br />
A sheer black base filled with shimmer that shifts from aqua-blue to violet at extreme angles. Methinks I ought to have layered this shy lass over a dark colour to bring out its true beauty.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ail3izOoteM/U67VtE0t6kI/AAAAAAAADK4/6VvNx2xcFtw/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-ink-of-the-sea.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ail3izOoteM/U67VtE0t6kI/AAAAAAAADK4/6VvNx2xcFtw/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-ink-of-the-sea.jpg" height="588" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Ink of the Sea.</b> 3 thin coats.<br />
A sheer purple base with heavy aqua-green shimmer. The base colour does not translate onto the nail as much but you can catch glimmers of it from an angle.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LPmG24aIy2k/U67VtNplqpI/AAAAAAAADKs/I32H5pkhsQg/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-maddening-whispers.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LPmG24aIy2k/U67VtNplqpI/AAAAAAAADKs/I32H5pkhsQg/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-maddening-whispers.jpg" height="574" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tQpDNv4Blvg/U67VuDqTm5I/AAAAAAAADK8/1DQ4TzKZ6NQ/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-maddening-whispers1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tQpDNv4Blvg/U67VuDqTm5I/AAAAAAAADK8/1DQ4TzKZ6NQ/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-maddening-whispers1.jpg" height="536" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Maddening Whispers.</b> 3 thin coats.<br />
A deep purple base with shimmer that shifts from green to purple. This totally drives me MAD with lust. Super LOVE.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-d9I8S3Mxxhk/U67VrGtzgtI/AAAAAAAADKU/swXfLtomlF8/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-gravity-lapse.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-d9I8S3Mxxhk/U67VrGtzgtI/AAAAAAAADKU/swXfLtomlF8/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-gravity-lapse.jpg" height="608" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-q8TRTSqexL4/U67VrAfn_pI/AAAAAAAADKY/tiAJUGkry0E/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-gravity-lapse1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-q8TRTSqexL4/U67VrAfn_pI/AAAAAAAADKY/tiAJUGkry0E/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-gravity-lapse1.jpg" height="596" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Gravity Lapse.</b> 3 thin coats.<br />
Sheer black base with shimmer that shifts from pink-violet to grey-green. I am officially out of words to describe how I feel.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PcrDzYhc410/U67VvPDm-xI/AAAAAAAADLQ/Sr2WxDuyh6w/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-void-shatter.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PcrDzYhc410/U67VvPDm-xI/AAAAAAAADLQ/Sr2WxDuyh6w/s1600/femme-fatale-cosmetics-void-shatter.jpg" height="594" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Void Shatter.</b> 2 thin coats.<br />
A black linear holo filled with warm pink-violet flecks. *_*<br />
<br />
The polishes applied wonderfully and I <i>highly</i> recommend grabbing them before they disappear. I haven't seen many holos with that extra something that doesn't overwhelm the holo effect and, on the contrary, complement the holo so well. Sophie really does have a magical touch. If I really have to pick a handful of favourites, they would have to be Maddening Whispers, Mirror of Dawn, Deepstone and Void Shatter.<br />
<br />
What do you think of these colours? Which ones caught your eye?<br />
<br />
Femme Fatale Cosmetics is available on their <a href="http://femmefatalecosmetics.com.au/">website</a> and at various stockists.<br />

<a class="button white" href="http://thepolishwell.blogspot.com/p/copyright.html">Purchased By Me</a></div>
<br />
Happy Sunday loves! I heard that the FIFA World Cup has started not too long ago in Brazil so there are probably some sleepyheads out there in this part of the world who stayed up late to catch the matches. I am not a football fan so I didn't follow the matches. But I did stay up slightly late to read my manga though o"o<br />
<br />
Anyway, I thought I might as well share my picks from the OPI Brazil collection for spring/summer 2014. This collection has been released earlier this year but better late than never right? :P<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VUVdCBqOSgg/U50AA7XbVAI/AAAAAAAADIw/9ZpNiRxq0ic/s1600/opi-brazil.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VUVdCBqOSgg/U50AA7XbVAI/AAAAAAAADIw/9ZpNiRxq0ic/s1600/opi-brazil.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SHsvV11fSCQ/U50ABxfXWII/AAAAAAAADJA/g5LEH0xyYqA/s1600/opi-dont-bossa-nova-me-around.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SHsvV11fSCQ/U50ABxfXWII/AAAAAAAADJA/g5LEH0xyYqA/s1600/opi-dont-bossa-nova-me-around.jpg" height="606" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Don't Bossa Nova Me Around.</b> 2 thin coats.<br />
A beautiful pale pink nude with just a hint of lilac. Pure elegance and simple sophistication. Reminds me of <a href="http://thepolishwell.blogspot.com/2012/09/opi-germany-collection-fall-2012.html">OPI's My Very First Knockwurst</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JZXnL9YVKB8/U50ADFUanEI/AAAAAAAADJY/WKEf6iLEddU/s1600/opi-taupeless-beach.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JZXnL9YVKB8/U50ADFUanEI/AAAAAAAADJY/WKEf6iLEddU/s1600/opi-taupeless-beach.jpg" height="612" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Taupeless Beach.</b> 2 thin coats.<br />
A light taupe creme. Clean and classic. I do so have a soft spot for such shades.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wSwnfMqSc7E/U50ABw2aRpI/AAAAAAAADJI/2t6MoTcH2ms/s1600/opi-i-just-cant-cope-acabana.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wSwnfMqSc7E/U50ABw2aRpI/AAAAAAAADJI/2t6MoTcH2ms/s1600/opi-i-just-cant-cope-acabana.jpg" height="602" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>I Just Can't Cope-acabana.</b> 2 thin coats.<br />
A bright warm yellow creme. The yellow is slightly more saturated on the nails than in the bottle. This has the honour of being the only other yellow in my collection. I bought it because I heard that the formula is really wonderful for a yellow and I am certainly not disappointed. OPI nailed it with this one. I also like that the colour is not too cool for my skin tone. More flattering than I had expected ♥<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gtegPjdmQpg/U50ADhTxjRI/AAAAAAAADJc/bNvagWhR0CM/s1600/opi-where-did-suzis-man-go.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gtegPjdmQpg/U50ADhTxjRI/AAAAAAAADJc/bNvagWhR0CM/s1600/opi-where-did-suzis-man-go.jpg" height="590" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Where did Suzi's Man Go?</b> 2 coats.<br />
A yummy looking orange creme. Reminds of my China Glaze's <a href="http://thepolishwell.blogspot.com/2014/06/china-glaze-off-shore-2014.html">If In Doubt, Surf It Out</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pOtvcPvua34/U50ACkyQtHI/AAAAAAAADJQ/XCFRNCjCtqg/s1600/opi-live-love-carnaval.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pOtvcPvua34/U50ACkyQtHI/AAAAAAAADJQ/XCFRNCjCtqg/s1600/opi-live-love-carnaval.jpg" height="604" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Live.Love.Carnaval.</b> 2 thin coats.<br />
A bright bold coral that is just ♥<br />
<br />
The formula of these colours is flawless and application is wonderful - even for the yellow!<br />
<br />
What do you think of these colours? Did you pick up any from this collection?<br />
<br />

<a class="button white" href="http://thepolishwell.blogspot.com/p/copyright.html">Purchased By Me</a></div>
<br />
Happy Sunday everyone! I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend so far! I managed to catch the X-Men movie, went for a dim sum dinner at Tim Ho Wan and had a hair cut and dye at Shunji Matsuo yesterday. ^_^<br />
<br />
Today, I spent some time selecting and watermarking the swatches I have done last week and here are my picks from the China Glaze Off Shore collection for summer 2014!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3buh08NCbag/U5PZDdPqvyI/AAAAAAAADGk/H5M_6HIc4yw/s1600/china-glaze-off-shore.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3buh08NCbag/U5PZDdPqvyI/AAAAAAAADGk/H5M_6HIc4yw/s1600/china-glaze-off-shore.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-v6nW05jMWhs/U5PZBVW1BOI/AAAAAAAADGc/L51yTDtC_ac/s1600/china-glaze-float-on.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-v6nW05jMWhs/U5PZBVW1BOI/AAAAAAAADGc/L51yTDtC_ac/s1600/china-glaze-float-on.jpg" height="606" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Float On.</b> 3 thin coats.<br />
A bright candy pink. I swear I am starting to appreciate pinks. This is a slightly darker shade than baby pink and has just that hint of maturity / sophistication that made me take a second look as I look through the other swatches online when making my purchase.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UFmRxkKx924/U5PZBT_mQTI/AAAAAAAADGU/32z9Al390K8/s1600/china-glaze-dune-our-thing.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UFmRxkKx924/U5PZBT_mQTI/AAAAAAAADGU/32z9Al390K8/s1600/china-glaze-dune-our-thing.jpg" height="580" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Dune Our Thing.</b> 2 thin coats.<br />
A berry pink creme. Bright, happy and flattering. Love it. I think it is safe to say that I no longer not like pinks. o"o<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-f1E8xGvsZ5o/U5PZC4uTFFI/AAAAAAAADGo/xKY9Vc9BObY/s1600/china-glaze-if-in-doubt-surf-it-out.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-f1E8xGvsZ5o/U5PZC4uTFFI/AAAAAAAADGo/xKY9Vc9BObY/s1600/china-glaze-if-in-doubt-surf-it-out.jpg" height="592" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>If in Doubt, Surf it Out.</b> 2 thin coats.<br />
A peach-leaning orange pastel creme. Dries slightly darker than how it looks in the bottle. But still juicy nonetheless!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yiQdUZpcC2o/U5PZEEOhXFI/AAAAAAAADHE/LTdkGGoXrPI/s1600/china-glaze-stoked-to-be-soaked.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yiQdUZpcC2o/U5PZEEOhXFI/AAAAAAAADHE/LTdkGGoXrPI/s1600/china-glaze-stoked-to-be-soaked.jpg" height="590" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Stoked to be Soaked.</b> 3 thin coats.<br />
A bright orange creme with just a hint of dustiness. Not neon but definitely pops on the tips!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sn6DvKHWNhQ/U5PZBBmIy6I/AAAAAAAADG4/azfQjrnKoUI/s1600/china-glaze-be-more-pacific.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sn6DvKHWNhQ/U5PZBBmIy6I/AAAAAAAADG4/azfQjrnKoUI/s1600/china-glaze-be-more-pacific.jpg" height="604" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Be More Pacific. </b>3 thin coats.<br />
A beautiful pastel lime green. Not quite neon but very summery and refreshing looking! Super love!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RlAJDua8Uws/U5PZDhr2CrI/AAAAAAAADG8/YTL2d5pDs54/s1600/china-glaze-shore-enuff.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RlAJDua8Uws/U5PZDhr2CrI/AAAAAAAADG8/YTL2d5pDs54/s1600/china-glaze-shore-enuff.jpg" height="596" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Shore Enuff.</b> 3 thin coats.<br />
A bright green creme. Slightly darker than <a href="http://thepolishwell.blogspot.sg/2014/05/opi-neon-2014-my-picks.html">OPI You're So Outta Lime</a>. I don't really have words to describe it but I love it. I swear I am loving all the summer greens this year <3<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZfRJWP9JGss/U5PZEiHrzMI/AAAAAAAADHI/etSCy-uSZEc/s1600/china-glaze-wait-n-sea.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZfRJWP9JGss/U5PZEiHrzMI/AAAAAAAADHI/etSCy-uSZEc/s1600/china-glaze-wait-n-sea.jpg" height="640" width="638" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Wait N' Sea.</b> 3 thin coats.<br />
Now how do I describe this colour... a slightly dusty teal-leaning blue? At first coat, I thought it would be another <a href="http://thepolishwell.blogspot.sg/2013/07/china-glaze-sunsational-jellies.html">Isle See You Later</a> (too sheer) but the colour quickly built up on the second coat and I added a third for good measure. Colour is right up my alley.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xwt6me0p98c/U5PZCt5aufI/AAAAAAAADGg/oFRrLApW6JU/s1600/china-glaze-i-sea-the-point.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xwt6me0p98c/U5PZCt5aufI/AAAAAAAADGg/oFRrLApW6JU/s1600/china-glaze-i-sea-the-point.jpg" height="596" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>I Sea the Point.</b> 3 thin coats.<br />
Oh hello gorgeous~ A bold bright blue brain-blowing beauty (see what I did there? ;p). I hesitated to buy it initially because I heard the formula is slightly tricky. And it is true - application feels slightly unusual - but it is too pretty to pass up. I would recommend a good shake of the bottle, thin coats, slightly quicker strokes and not to go over the same spot too much. Any patches can be covered by the next coat when the previous coat dries. It has the same distinct smell as Revlon Royal and OPI Eurso Euro so I suspect they use the same pigments thought I Sea the Point appears to be brighter (I suspect it has neon pigments too because it dries slightly matte).<br />
<br />
So what do you think of these colours? Which colours from this collection caught your eyes?<br />

<a class="button white" href="http://thepolishwell.blogspot.com/p/copyright.html">Purchased By Me</a></div>
<br />
HELLO LOVELIES! It has been a <i>realllllllyyyyyy </i>long time since I updated this blog and I simply must apologise for going AWOL. I got caught up with a massive project at work and didn't have the time or energy to prepare posts. The project is still ongoing but has eased up somewhat recently and I was determined to reward myself by doing something I love so here I am!<br />
<br />
If you have been following me on Instagram or Twitter, you might have caught a glimpse of my post-traumatic stress haul. I must admit I went a little overboard but I simply had to grab some of those bright happy summer colours to chase away my glooms. Mental note to self: do not shop when one is stressed.<br />
<br />
I was most excited about the OPI Neon collection so they went right on my tips immediately after I unpacked the parcel. They are just sooo pretty:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ypwiGSfWf6w/U4nK986m1oI/AAAAAAAADEo/9t0LcvR6Nbo/s1600/opi-neon-2014.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ypwiGSfWf6w/U4nK986m1oI/AAAAAAAADEo/9t0LcvR6Nbo/s1600/opi-neon-2014.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a> </div>
<br />
**all swatches on the ring finger has one coat of white as base**<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xkTnazyHltU/U4nLAWoAfMI/AAAAAAAADFE/-XQ5j1UIOxQ/s1600/opi-you-are-so-outta-lime.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xkTnazyHltU/U4nLAWoAfMI/AAAAAAAADFE/-XQ5j1UIOxQ/s1600/opi-you-are-so-outta-lime.jpg" height="564" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>You're So Outta Lime!</b> 3 thin coats.<br />
A bright neon green. It is not as muted as it looks in this picture. Bright/neon greens are my kryptonite this summer. <3<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wSaZQrcOitU/U4nK9jxrHBI/AAAAAAAADE4/dDU1UAQAaUs/s1600/opi-juice-bar-hopping.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wSaZQrcOitU/U4nK9jxrHBI/AAAAAAAADE4/dDU1UAQAaUs/s1600/opi-juice-bar-hopping.jpg" height="548" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Juice Bar Hopping.</b> 3 thin coats.<br />
An eye-searing neon orange jelly. White base highly recommended to make the colour pop. I am not usually a fan of orange but this is so wickedly neon that I am in love.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-m1tdiomLGvc/U4nK9vsqWkI/AAAAAAAADEw/tibNjxz9GS8/s1600/opi-down-to-the-core-al.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-m1tdiomLGvc/U4nK9vsqWkI/AAAAAAAADEw/tibNjxz9GS8/s1600/opi-down-to-the-core-al.jpg" height="570" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Down to the Core-al.</b> 3 thin coats.<br />
A neon coral with pink shimmer. I am torn about this one. I love the coral and I love the neon but I am not so sure whether I love the shimmer. =\<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dv1yacBNcY8/U4nK_f3dVVI/AAAAAAAADFA/JJLTCg6TlxY/s1600/opi-push-and-pur-pull.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dv1yacBNcY8/U4nK_f3dVVI/AAAAAAAADFA/JJLTCg6TlxY/s1600/opi-push-and-pur-pull.jpg" height="568" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Push & Pur-Pull.</b> 3 thin coats.<br />
A neon purple jelly. It is not as bright as the other colours but it dries to a satin-matte finish too so I do believe there are neon pigments within. Regardless, it is a gorgeous shade of purple! It applies slightly streakily/patchily so care is required for an even finish.<br />
<br />
The other two colours in the collection are <b>Hotter Than You Pink </b>(neon pink with blue shimmer) and <b>Life Gave Me Lemons (</b>neon yellow<b>) </b>but I did not purchase them as I wasn't sure if I'd like them.<br />
<br />
The formula of these colours are generally ok. I did not have much trouble with application. They dry to a satin-matte finish (especially Down to the Core-al) so a top coat is definitely recommended.<br />
<br />
So.. what do you think of this collection? Which is your favourite colour? :D<br />
<br />
Stay tuned for more brights and neons coming your way!!<br />
If you would like to see any comparison, please feel free to comment below! If I have the colours, I will do my best to do a comparison post :)<br />

<br />
Happy weekends lovelies!<br />
<br />
Today, I have another new-to-the-blog brand to share with all of you - Ruby Wing! As you may already know, Ruby Wing is a line of polishes that changes colour in the sun (or more specifically under UV light) from the people behind the brand, Color Club!<br />
<br />
I was offered the chance to try out a mini set of 4 from their Fall 2013 collection - Cupcakes and Champagne. I had thought these colours were too sweet for my liking but boy did they blow my socks off! Take a look!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Lbd7RbNLNcA/UzaeCj28mBI/AAAAAAAADDg/NIRlRksZr28/s1600/rubywing.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Lbd7RbNLNcA/UzaeCj28mBI/AAAAAAAADDg/NIRlRksZr28/s1600/rubywing.jpg" height="640" width="574" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xIXzmg6FA6w/Uzad9cicWWI/AAAAAAAADC8/5_6Mxjptd9I/s1600/ruby-wing---cinnamon-bun.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xIXzmg6FA6w/Uzad9cicWWI/AAAAAAAADC8/5_6Mxjptd9I/s1600/ruby-wing---cinnamon-bun.jpg" height="606" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yIQFeSkcQqE/Uzad_B6qwFI/AAAAAAAADDM/O3MJVL0gKgA/s1600/ruby-wing---cinnamon-bun1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yIQFeSkcQqE/Uzad_B6qwFI/AAAAAAAADDM/O3MJVL0gKgA/s1600/ruby-wing---cinnamon-bun1.jpg" height="602" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Cinnamon Bun. </b>2 thin coats.<br />
A light rusty brown to green duochrome foil that darkens to a beautiful reddish brown when exposed to UV rays. The reddish brown is much darker than the swatch above but I had to ditch my swatches of that because they turned out to be too blurry >< The second picture above shows the intermediary colour as the polish fades back to the lighter shade.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Desn7s1FVhs/UzaeBO7B8PI/AAAAAAAADDc/LBkJ1j3sOLE/s1600/ruby-wing---sweet-cream.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Desn7s1FVhs/UzaeBO7B8PI/AAAAAAAADDc/LBkJ1j3sOLE/s1600/ruby-wing---sweet-cream.jpg" height="588" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SEGQHYzv7yQ/UzaeBYqX23I/AAAAAAAADDk/GmYiLMpW2Vw/s1600/ruby-wing---sweet-cream2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SEGQHYzv7yQ/UzaeBYqX23I/AAAAAAAADDk/GmYiLMpW2Vw/s1600/ruby-wing---sweet-cream2.jpg" height="566" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Sweet Cream</b>. 2 thin coats over OPI Barre My Soul.<br />
A clear base with strong pink to green duochrome shimmer that darkens dramatically into a deep purple (even darker than the swatch above). I really love the shimmer and how versatile this is. Quite possibly my favourite from this quartet.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pXkokzJarh0/Uzad9UUXdYI/AAAAAAAADDA/oYEvIYjsShA/s1600/ruby-wing---chocolate-mousse.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pXkokzJarh0/Uzad9UUXdYI/AAAAAAAADDA/oYEvIYjsShA/s1600/ruby-wing---chocolate-mousse.jpg" height="590" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hLH4f2syBe4/Uzad9CCo6AI/AAAAAAAADC4/5ecnhO_-CI8/s1600/ruby-wing---chocolate-mousse2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hLH4f2syBe4/Uzad9CCo6AI/AAAAAAAADC4/5ecnhO_-CI8/s1600/ruby-wing---chocolate-mousse2.jpg" height="554" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Chocolate Mousse. </b>3 thin coats over OPI Barre My Soul.<br />
Another clear based polish filled with iridescent flakies that shifts to a deep maroon-brown (darker than swatch above). Another dramatic shift. Although I love how delicate the flakies look in a clear base, I super love them when they pop against the dark colour when in the sun. Application is slightly tricky with this one because of the size of the flakies.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-l9EdazAuZ8Y/UzaeGcxa2tI/AAAAAAAADDw/bnW-FYXD9CQ/s1600/ruby-wing---doux.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-l9EdazAuZ8Y/UzaeGcxa2tI/AAAAAAAADDw/bnW-FYXD9CQ/s1600/ruby-wing---doux.jpg" height="602" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3D53AQfAVVM/Uzad_9vcG7I/AAAAAAAADDU/bILwp7aldsE/s1600/ruby-wing---doux2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3D53AQfAVVM/Uzad_9vcG7I/AAAAAAAADDU/bILwp7aldsE/s1600/ruby-wing---doux2.jpg" height="546" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Doux.</b> 3 thin coats over OPI Barre My Soul.<br />
A clear base filled with shimmer-flakies that darkens to a deep purple (darker than swatch above). You know I can't resist a purple.<br />
<br />
The colour change in these polishes really got me and I must say I absolutely love them! Colour changing in the sun? Duochrome too!? *grabby hands* These are simply perfect for the sunny weather in Singapore - demure work appropriate nails in a minute and va-va-vamp the next!<br />
<br />
Not only that, each of these polishes are SCENTED! I am not usually a fan of scented polishes but these smell like their namesake - soooooo yummy <33 The scents seem to last quite long and I can still smell whiffs of the scents from my swatch sticks a week later!<br />
<br />

<br /></div>
<br />
Hello lovelies! It has been a while since I have made my polishes available for sale and I must apologise for not responding to the various email requests sent to my inbox which have gone unanswered because I was so bogged down with work.<br />
<br />
After much deliberation, I have decided to start accepting orders again for all the old colours one last time before I retire them. It pains me to retire my babies but it has become infeasible for me to keep a few of so many colours. I am probably not making these old colours available on the blog after this last sale unless I can find a solution to my problem.<br />
<br />
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">As before, I will be making all the old polishes available for pre-orders on the form (to be inserted below) from tomorrow, Thursday, 20 March 2014, 9am SGT.</span><br />

</div>
<br />
It's the dreaded Monday~ I can assure you that my inner Garfield is not pleased at all.<br />
<br />
Today, I have a new-to-me brand to share with all of you - JINsoon! Sounds familiar? Yup, it is the nail polish line from <i>the</i> Choi Jin Soon, well-known and highly sought after celebrity and editorial manicurist! Crowned the "Nail Guru" by The New York Times Magazine, Jin Soon is known for her ability to pinpoint current and emerging trends and translate them into the art of nail design. In 2012, she launched her own nail polish line comprising a range of 5-free polishes formulated with high-tech polymers and resins to ensure a glossy finish and long wear. Not only that, it also includes UV filters to prevent the colours from yellowing and fading.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CpqVJG0mg_I/UyWaphHNVFI/AAAAAAAADCE/eNypgMK7epU/s1600/jinsoon-epidote.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CpqVJG0mg_I/UyWaphHNVFI/AAAAAAAADCE/eNypgMK7epU/s1600/jinsoon-epidote.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I had the privilege of catching a glimpse of some of the JINsoon polishes during my last trip to Vedure and I must say they really stood out from the rest of the polishes on display with their chic packaging. As some of you may already know, I am a sucker for square nail polish bottles because they are so much easier to store as compared to other bottle shapes. Needless to say, the colours were classy and sophisticated - I certainly expected no less from a celebrity manicurist like Jin Soon! ;)<br />
<br />
Amongst the JINsoon colours available at Vedure, Epidote (pictured) caught my eye with its gorgeous duochrome colours:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<b>Epidote.</b> 2 thin coats.<br />
<br />
A rich glowy green that shifts to a beautiful hue of reddish brown. A perfect colour for fall although, given the duochrome-lover I am, I wouldn't hesitate to wear it any time of the year. I especially love how the shift in this is very strong and pronounced ♥<br />
<br />
At the first coat, Epidote appears to be slightly sheer but it reached opacity very quickly by the second coat. No layering required for this.<br />
<br />
Application was buttery smooth. The formula of Epidote had a wonderful consistency that wasn't thick or runny (as some duochromes may be) at all. The brush (pictured above) is similar to the pro-wide brushes of OPI but slightly stiffer and did not fan out as much but not difficult to control either.<br />
<br />
So what do you think of Epidote?<br />
I must say I really love how luscious the colour is. The rest of the Fall 2013 collection are equally gorgeous and I can't stop drooling over them. ♥_♥<br />

Vedure!<div style="text-align: right;">
<br /></div>
I made it to the weekends!!! After slogging my guts out at work for the past five days, I can finally take a deep breath and have several sets of forty winks. I nearly even did a celebratory rain dance when I woke up to a promisingly cloudy sky (I haven't seen rain for more than a month)... well, except that it rained for the whole of a glorious five minutes. Still better than nothing I guess.<br />
<br />
Random ramblings aside, I am very very excited to share today's post with you, especially fellow Singaporeans!<br />
<br />
I am sure many of you will agree with me that Singapore is not one of the best places for a nail polish addict to live in. I have lost count of how many times I lamented about the mediocre selection of nail polishes in Singapore. Of course, I am not complaining about indie polishes as these have largely been taken care of by our online retailers. But, we do have a surprising lack of mainstream nail polishes. Until recently, the only mainstream nail polishes available in Singapore are probably only OPI and China Glaze and these were only found in nail salons. Thankfully, more brands are starting to make their way to Singapore. OPI and China Glaze are now available via blogshops. You can also find small pockets of polishes stashed away in counters at drug stores and departmental stores. But that's still hardly enough to satisfy a nail addict's needs.<br />
<br />
I was more or less resigned to do major hauls during my travels until I came to know of a shop that might just change the whole 'nail scene' in Singapore! Ladies (and gentlemen)... say hello to <a href="http://www.vedure.com/">VEDURE</a>!<br />
<br />
As some of you may be aware, Vedure is an award-winning medispa and aesthetic clinic that offers a range of services to pamper your face, body and nails. Not only that, I recently came to know that Vedure also has an incredible selection of polishes for sale! Just take a look:<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QkZGQC2fUGk/UyQFYWA3UtI/AAAAAAAADBI/lA85iWpThxc/s1600/vedure.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QkZGQC2fUGk/UyQFYWA3UtI/AAAAAAAADBI/lA85iWpThxc/s1600/vedure.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Credit: <a href="http://www.vedure.com/">Vedure</a></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Didn't that just totally blew your mind away?! It certainly took <i>my</i> breath away when I first laid my eyes on it. Nail polishes are on your left, right and center and there's only one word to describe it - HEAVEN!<br />
<br />
I didn't remember to take any pictures during my trip there because I was just too overwhelmed with the pretties before my eyes so I've used this picture from Vedure instead. The display is still the same but unless my eyes were playing tricks on me, I think there are more nail polishes on the shelves now.<br />
<br />
Some of the polishes available for sale include:<br />
<br />
China Glaze - no introduction needed<br />
<a href="http://rubywing.com/">Ruby Wing</a> (3-free, colour changing nail polishes from USA)<br />
<a href="https://www.gingerandliz.com/">Ginger+Liz</a> (5-free, vegan friendly nail polishes from USA)<br />

</tbody></table>
Vedure has since expanded its selection of Ruby Wing polishes and are carrying the <i>full</i> range of Ruby Wing polishes. They have also started carrying several <a href="https://www.shoplvx.com/">LVX</a> polishes and <a href="http://www.sheswaibeauty.com/">Sheswai</a> polishes.<br />
<br />
With so many brands available at Vedure, I am sure you can see why I was so mindblown. This must be the single largest selection I have seen at any counter in Singapore!<br />
And that's not all! Vedure is keen to bring EVEN MORE nail polish brands into Singapore!! This is truly music to my ears and brings much joy to my little NPA soul ~♥<br />
<br />
Apart from the nail polishes, Vedure also carries a neat selection of nail tools, nail care products and nail art kits (including some from Color Club) for the DIY-ers. If this isn't a one-stop shop for all our nail needs, I don't know what is.<br />
<br />
And if you are not in the mood to do your own nails (yes, nail girls do have such moments) or when you simply want someone to fuss over and pamper your nails OR when you simply want to try one of the colours without committing to buy a full bottle, you can opt to have one of Vedure's manicure/pedicure or nail spa services!<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Credit: Vedure</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I have yet to try the services myself but I do intend to. Not only have I heard good reviews about their services (award-winning!), I am sorely tempted by their selection of polishes. Apart from the brands listed above, they also have colours from Layla (yup, the brand that caught the nail community by storm with their crazy holographic and chrome polishes)! This is truly something that cannot be offered by many other nail salons in Singapore.<br />
<br />
So... are you as excited as I am?! Do you see why I was nearly delirious with joy when I had a tour of their store at Robinson Orchard?!<br />
What colours/brands are you most excited to see? What other nail polish brands would you like to see at Vedure?<br />
<br />
Vedure has outlets at Robinsons JEM, Wheelock Place and Robinsons Orchard (Heeren). You can follow them on <a href="https://www.facebook.com/vedure">Facebook</a>, <a href="https://twitter.com/veduremb">Twitter</a> and <a href="http://instagram.com/vedure">Instagram</a> for more updates!<br />
<br />
p.s. to top everything off, the Singapore Illamasqua counter was just a couple of feet away! I would have popped by Illamasqua if I weren't rushing off for a meeting that day :(<br />
<br />
Do share this little nail polish heaven with your friends and stay tuned for some swatches and more <i>goodies</i> coming your way ;)<br />

<br />
I hope everyone has had a great weekend! I had a pretty awesome Saturday myself. I spent the whole afternoon shopping with my mum and sis and bought some presents for my niece and nephew. I also got a new external hard drive (yay to more storage!) and a new fragrance for myself. I was deciding between Trussardi's My Name and Gucci's Guilty Stud (LE) but settled on Guilty and got a free Issey Miyake Floral sample to try. I quite like all of them but I am trying my best to resist my hoarder instincts because they can't be kept for long.. well not as long as I would like them to anyway!<br />
<br />
Anyhow, I have a new-to-me brand to share with all of you today - mint polish! I am sure this brand is not unfamiliar to many of you. I have had these two bottles with me for a while now but only got around to swatching them recently.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5PQkOddDF18/UxxZGrs0ytI/AAAAAAAADAo/ncDrxhKU2Ic/s1600/mint-polish.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5PQkOddDF18/UxxZGrs0ytI/AAAAAAAADAo/ncDrxhKU2Ic/s1600/mint-polish.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pwhtt4-cd1c/UxxZGxCGygI/AAAAAAAADA8/gM9zGIKGqHk/s1600/mint-polish-esmeralda.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pwhtt4-cd1c/UxxZGxCGygI/AAAAAAAADA8/gM9zGIKGqHk/s1600/mint-polish-esmeralda.jpg" height="574" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Esmeralda. </b>2 thin coats.<br />
A creamy royal purple that glided onto the nails. I love how fun this shade looked - which totally fitted the name. If you are a purple fan, you would love this!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-C4EQLx00Pzc/UxxZG6RD3MI/AAAAAAAADA4/ThbNFzAWors/s1600/mint-polish-czarina.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-C4EQLx00Pzc/UxxZG6RD3MI/AAAAAAAADA4/ThbNFzAWors/s1600/mint-polish-czarina.jpg" height="596" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Czarina.</b> 3 thin coats.<br />
A shimmery emerald that is so slightly duochrome. I couldn't capture the colour shift but you can catch hints of it in the bottle. I had expected this to be very sheer but it built up nicely in two coats. I added a third one for good measure and a richer tone.<br />
<br />
I have no complaints about the formula and application. I did take a while to get used to the brush wand which was slightly longer because of the longer bottle shape but it didn't hinder my application at all. You should be careful to get excess polish off the wand when applying because the runnier polishes may run down the wand and pool at the brush tip after a while.<br />
<br />
So what do you think of these colours? Have you tried Mint Polish before?<br />
I do think that Mint Polish did a pretty awesome job at sticking to their mission of making good clean colours!<br />
<br />
Mint Polish is available on their <a href="http://www.mintpolish.com/collections/catalog" target="_blank">website</a> or through stockists like <a href="http://shop-dazzled.com/" target="_blank">Dazzled</a>.<br />

</div>
<br />
Before I knew it, another weekend has passed! I spent the entire Saturday at the Singapore Expo for the NATAS travel fair so I am totally beat today. On the bright side.... I will be going to TIBET with my family come this July!! Woots~ I hesitated to take up this tour package at first because of the cost but in the end, I couldn't resist the exotic pull of Tibet and the rest was history. Now, all I need is my boss' approval for my leave before the trip is confirmed! I am so excited!!! Has anyone been to Tibet before? Do share your experience with me if you have! :D<br />
<br />
Trips aside, I am sharing two shades from a new-to-me brand, Jindie Nails! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WCgm0pc1c0g/UxMZha0OwEI/AAAAAAAAC_8/PVHFFxzwTA0/s1600/jindie-nails.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WCgm0pc1c0g/UxMZha0OwEI/AAAAAAAAC_8/PVHFFxzwTA0/s1600/jindie-nails.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-beSVI6QXrHU/UxMZht6SGbI/AAAAAAAADAM/yHXIKtDDScw/s1600/jindie-nails-barbie-nightmare.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-beSVI6QXrHU/UxMZht6SGbI/AAAAAAAADAM/yHXIKtDDScw/s1600/jindie-nails-barbie-nightmare.jpg" height="586" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Barbie's Nightmare.</b> 4 thin coats.<br />
A white jelly filled with large glitters of various shapes - star, crescent, square, dot - and colours - black, silver, neon pink and red. I love the colour mix and the unique glitters in this colour. I suspect fans of large glitters may love this shade though I would love it more if it has some smaller glitters or shimmers in the mix too.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5X4etOaVtpg/UxMZhqvmTtI/AAAAAAAADAQ/G6AuL_kfn_M/s1600/jindie-nails-sexy-barbie.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5X4etOaVtpg/UxMZhqvmTtI/AAAAAAAADAQ/G6AuL_kfn_M/s1600/jindie-nails-sexy-barbie.jpg" height="598" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Sexy Barbie.</b> 4 thin coats.<br />
A bright neon pink jelly filled with dots of various sizes and colours - silver, fuchsia, red. The pink is really bright and squishy but appears to drown out some of the smaller glitters.<br />
<br />
Application is slightly tricky for these colours. The formula is great but, as always, the large glitters need some fishing from the bottle and prodding on the nails - which explains my love-hate relationship with such glitters. Oh wells. We can't always have the pie and eat it too. Some of the glitters in these colours appear to be slightly thicker than usual so you may require an additional coat of top coat or two for a smooth finish.<br />
<br />
What do you think of these colours? What other shades from Jindie Nails do you love?<br />
<br />
These two shades from Jindie Nails are exclusively available from <a href="http://meimeisignatures.com/index.php?id_category=300&controller=category">Mei Mei's Signatures</a>.<br />

<a class="button white" href="http://thepolishwell.blogspot.com/p/copyright.html">Purchased By Me</a></div>
<br />
Oh why oh why does the weekend pass so quickly?! I hardly feel rested! *sad panda*<br />
On the bright side, I had been relatively more productive today and cleared some polishes from my to-swatch pile. My cuticles were protesting from the sudden wave of acetone assault but the weather today was too good to pass up!<br />
<br />
Since I haven't been blogging much about mainstream polishes, let's start with some OPIs, shall we? After my brief but very passionate affair with indie polishes, I find myself increasingly drawn to mainstream polishes. Don't get me wrong... My magpie eyes still love me some glitters but they are also starting to appreciate solid cremes and subtle shimmers. Perhaps work has something to do with it - after all, I still don't quite dare to sport jewel-encrusted nails to work.<br />
<br />
Anyhow, I caught wind of the OPI Gwen Stefani collection as I was scrolling through my Instagram feed. The pink, Hey Baby, immediately caught my eye and before I knew it, I got myself the whole collection, except the glitter o"o<br />
<br />
In my defense, they were looking soooo yummilicious:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nqMTmypo_I0/Uwnk9Up06TI/AAAAAAAAC-k/-mGKrk3cBw4/s1600/opi-gwen-stefani.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nqMTmypo_I0/Uwnk9Up06TI/AAAAAAAAC-k/-mGKrk3cBw4/s1600/opi-gwen-stefani.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6kxZSXTINDw/UwnmQ8iF7mI/AAAAAAAAC-4/NagtQyEbIcE/s1600/opi-hey-baby.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6kxZSXTINDw/UwnmQ8iF7mI/AAAAAAAAC-4/NagtQyEbIcE/s1600/opi-hey-baby.jpg" height="568" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Hey Baby.</b> 3 thin coats.<br />
Oh this delicious pink! So bright it positively makes my heart soar! I know I have said a million times that I am not a fan of pink but this had me eating my words. I nearly didn't get this because my friends and I thought it might be similar to OPI's Suzi's Hungary Again (which I have also just got) but I am glad I didn't skip this because they are very different. Hey Baby is a truer pink while Suzi's Hungary Again is more salmon pink in contrast. It is certainly a bonus that Hey Baby applies really well too!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZSmPlT5ZB90/UwnmQ_jRLQI/AAAAAAAAC_I/BvYoCtDbpR8/s1600/opi-i-sing-in-colour.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZSmPlT5ZB90/UwnmQ_jRLQI/AAAAAAAAC_I/BvYoCtDbpR8/s1600/opi-i-sing-in-colour.jpg" height="548" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>I Sing In Color.</b> 3 thin coats; 2 on the pinky.<br />
A vampy maroon with a crelly consistency. Although it looks sheer and uneven in my swatch, I swear it looked much more opaque and slightly darker in person. My camera tends to pick up and focus more on the jelliness than the richness of the colour. You might want to be careful with the application for this colour because clean-up isn't pretty.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ey80J2EsFF4/UwnmQ6E8V6I/AAAAAAAAC-8/bKJBq3O0TdM/s1600/opi-4-in-the-morning.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ey80J2EsFF4/UwnmQ6E8V6I/AAAAAAAAC-8/bKJBq3O0TdM/s1600/opi-4-in-the-morning.jpg" height="556" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>4 in the Morning.</b> 2 thin coats (added top coat on ring finger).<br />
A shimmery black with a smooth satin finish. When dried, the shimmer is not very obvious but it adds a subtle highlight to the nails so the black doesn't look too flat. When you top it with top-coat, the shimmer comes back to life so delicately. Formula is fantastic for this one - it is pretty much self-leveling and dries quickly.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uKxWsAjIrvo/UwnmTM1-bcI/AAAAAAAAC_c/AbLszgIeIzY/s1600/opi-love-angel-music-baby.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uKxWsAjIrvo/UwnmTM1-bcI/AAAAAAAAC_c/AbLszgIeIzY/s1600/opi-love-angel-music-baby.jpg" height="554" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Love.Angel.Music.Baby.</b> 2 thin coats (added top coat on the ring finger).<br />
A shimmery gold with a satin finish. Super gorgeous! I don't usually reach for gold but this is so beautifully soft without being in-your-face. When you top it with top coat, the shimmers glisten and sparkle. It applies very smoothly and dries quickly on the nails too! I wore this as an accent nail with Over and Over A-Gwen (below) for Chinese New Year and it wore like iron for a week. It stamps beautifully too! Just last week, I stamped it over <a href="http://thepolishwell.blogspot.com/2013/05/opi-pirates-of-caribbean-on-stranger.html">OPI Skull and Glossbones</a> and topped everything with topcoat for a delicate sparkly look. I know I will be reaching for this very often.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-F2HLLaDsG80/UwnmTF5zAEI/AAAAAAAAC_g/WIL7heZf-AE/s1600/opi-over-and-over-a-gwen.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-F2HLLaDsG80/UwnmTF5zAEI/AAAAAAAAC_g/WIL7heZf-AE/s1600/opi-over-and-over-a-gwen.jpg" height="534" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Over and Over A-Gwen.</b> 3 thin coats.<br />
Gwen's signature shade of red. A classic shade of bright red that is a head turner. Very pigmented and unfortunately, a pain in the ass to clean up or remove so you might want to be extremely careful when you apply it. I am not a fan of reds (mainly because they are always so difficult to clean-up or remove) and neither am I a huge fan of Gwen but I got it anyway because I thought I should at least have a classic red in my stash. Of course, it was only after I bought it that I realised I have two other similar shades. -_- I really ought to revisit my reds so I am more familiar with them. Oh wells. At least, Over and Over A-Gwen came in a beautiful box together with these:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XkLawpr-oig/UwnmSWEgo1I/AAAAAAAAC_Q/dJsXKMrdpCI/s1600/opi-over-and-over-a-gwen1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XkLawpr-oig/UwnmSWEgo1I/AAAAAAAAC_Q/dJsXKMrdpCI/s1600/opi-over-and-over-a-gwen1.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The little booklet on the left includes some nail art suggestions for you to try. I didn't plan to do anything with the studs for this post but since I had some time to spare in the afternoon, I decided to try a quick and simple combi:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eCEk-ySzkeo/UwnmTql4gHI/AAAAAAAAC_o/17pcfYvN_lM/s1600/opi-over-and-over-a-gwen2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eCEk-ySzkeo/UwnmTql4gHI/AAAAAAAAC_o/17pcfYvN_lM/s1600/opi-over-and-over-a-gwen2.jpg" height="554" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Of course, I didn't use the nail glue that was provided. As always, I simply affix the studs on a fresh coat of top coat to secure it. If I were wearing these nails out, I would also top everything with a coat of top coat for good measure. I am not sure how things go with a nail glue but the studs come off easily with nail polish remover when I use a top coat so I can use them over and over a-gwen. Oops, sorry! Couldn't resist.<br />
<br />
And the last polish that I got from the collection...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-07PQpjKX2m0/UwnmUTkWOPI/AAAAAAAAC_s/p4iUoLlI68c/s1600/opi-push-and-shove.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-07PQpjKX2m0/UwnmUTkWOPI/AAAAAAAAC_s/p4iUoLlI68c/s1600/opi-push-and-shove.jpg" height="538" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Push and Shove.</b> 1 coat.<br />
My very first chrome polish! I know I am super late on this. I nearly got myself some Laylas when they first caught the world by storm (both their holos and their chromes) but the price tag held me back. I took the plunge with OPI's Push and Shove and, boy, I love it! Push and Shove came with a special base coat (Lay Down That Base) which wasn't ridge-filling unfortunately so I gently buffed my nails for a better chrome effect (chrome polishes aren't known to be forgiving of imperfections). Once the base has dried after a few seconds, I painted one careful coat of Push and Shove. The brushstrokes become less visible as the polish dries to an incredibly shiny foil-like finish. It was almost like magic and it made my little magpie heart flutter so hard! I am very tempted to wear this to work and show my friends but I think my boss might have more than a few comments on it ><<br />
<br />
Phew, that was a pretty long post from me! So, having seen the swatches, what do you think of this collection?<br />
To be fair, the colours are not entirely groundbreaking but they are really good together (I love a cohesive collection). If you already have similar colours, you might not need to get these, save for the satins perhaps - especially Love.Angel.Music.Baby!<br />

</div>
<br />
Good morning lovelies!! I trust that you are all enjoying the Valentine's weekend? I had completely forgotten that it was Valentine's Day on Friday (you can't blame a single for not remembering that, can you?) and happily painted my nails black on Thursday night. Everyone must have thought I was super anti-Valentine but I swear I am totally neutral on this. I'm blaming Jayo for my sudden urge to wear black. We were having dinner one night when she told me she once wore black nails to work and I was just itching to try the same and see what response I get from my boss. Well, he didn't say anything - I wasn't sure if he had noticed in the first place. Next on my to-try list? Chrome nails ;)<br />
<br />
After two days of black, I needed something really bright for a change so I trawled through my to-swatch pile and found these two pretties from NailNation 3000:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yqLpWq_A7c0/UwAl7F-IuVI/AAAAAAAAC-M/VGZiLM9YGiw/s1600/nailnation3000-awesome-sauce.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yqLpWq_A7c0/UwAl7F-IuVI/AAAAAAAAC-M/VGZiLM9YGiw/s1600/nailnation3000-awesome-sauce.JPG" height="604" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Awesome Sauce</b>. 3 thin coats.<br />
A brilliant orange holo with a tinge of coral. It looks like a dirty orange in the bottle but I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was such a saturated and vivid hue of orange on the nails. With the sun in Singapore, I just need a hat on my head, some margarita in my hand and sand in my toes for it to be a perfect Sunday!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_HHjAwajotE/UwAl6-GWojI/AAAAAAAAC-I/hsh4SEUekHY/s1600/nailnation3000-glowworm.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_HHjAwajotE/UwAl6-GWojI/AAAAAAAAC-I/hsh4SEUekHY/s1600/nailnation3000-glowworm.JPG" height="566" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Glow Worm.</b> 3 thin coats<br />
A lime green holo with a beautiful golden sheen. The holo effect is stronger on this one. I don't usually reach for light greens but this is making me think twice.<br />
<br />
Application for these two colours are great and no special base coat is needed. The formula was thin but not runny and applies easily over the nail.<br />
<br />
So what do you think of these two colours? What are your favourite NailNation 3000 colours?<br />

<br /></div>
Hello lovelies!! *waves furiously*<br />
It has been way too long since I've been here and I've really missed the blog and YOU so much! I owe all of you an apology for being absent all this while. I had spent a wonderful time in Taiwan in the last week of 2013 but caught a very bad cough/flu after I returned to Singapore. I went around with a fever for almost one whole week and basically spent all my non-working hours trying to sleep it off. Even after the fever went down, I continued hacking my lungs out >< My cough and flu finally eased up a few days ago so I am slowly getting back to my routine.<br />
<br />
To kick-start a new year, I have a special post to share today! Since I've started working, I have been cruelly separated from my precious glitter polishes so much so that they have started to accumulate dust in my helmer. *heartbreaks* So when I saw the gorgeous glitter phone covers that <a href="http://www.morenailpolish.com/2013/07/nail-polish-iphone-cases.html" target="_blank">Kathy of More Nail Polish</a> and<a href="http://www.nailgunxs.com/2013/09/femme-fatale-cosmetics-lunar-halo.html" target="_blank"> Bec of Nail Gun XS </a>had made, I swore to myself that I would never rest until I have one of my own. This year, I finally did:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YAWqHoKP3Wg/UuN5mDr728I/AAAAAAAAC9g/rAqrbiT9wBg/s1600/diy-phone-cover-glitter5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YAWqHoKP3Wg/UuN5mDr728I/AAAAAAAAC9g/rAqrbiT9wBg/s1600/diy-phone-cover-glitter5.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
My very own glitter rainbow! ♥<br />
<br />
All I did was to use a transparent phone cover/case and painted/dabbed my favourite glitter polishes on the inside of the case before finishing with a thin coat of black (to make the glitters pop) and a thin coat of top coat. I left it to dry for a day and a half - and I simply couldn't wait any longer ;)<br />
<br />
The colours I've used for this cover are all from Femme Fatale Cosmetics (I'm a <i>huge</i> fan) (from left to right):<br />
World of Shadows<br />
Nightsong Grotto<br />
Hydraxia<br />
Coldwraith<br />
Stonemother's Kiss<br />
Vortex Remnants<br />
Wickerman Embers<br />
Wild Magic<br />
<br />
The colours are not perfectly blended but I am in love with the cover anyway! ♥♥♥♥<br />
Because I cannot resist... PICTURE SPAM!!<br />

<br />
Ever since I've posted a picture of this cover on Instagram, I've received a lot of requests asking me if I will be selling these. I am honestly very flattered and happy that this is so well received but I wasn't sure if I can sell them at reasonable prices without making a loss - after all, the polishes do not come cheap. Instead, I have decided to do a giveaway and make a custom phone cover (whether similar to this or in a different colour) for a lucky follower on Instagram! For more details, please see my original post <a href="http://instagram.com/p/jVQsnISXxX/" target="_blank">here</a>.<br />
<br />
So, what do you think of my new phone cover? Have you tried making a DIY item with nail polish before? What do you think I should try next? :)<br />

<br />
Good morning, everyone!!<br />
I managed to squeeze some time for some swatches so I thought I would do a quickie post to share some beauties before I leave Singapore tonight ;)<br />
<br />
As you might have suspected, I have been really out of touch with the polish world for a while now. Between work, my polish creations and my manga obsession, I hardly have any time to sit down and scroll through my feed! As I watch the number of unread posts increase exponentially, I simply couldn't bring myself to tackle them - you know how it is >< If Mei Mei hadn't contacted me, I wouldn't have known that a-england has recently released yet another gorgeous collection! Shame on me! :(<br />

<br />
Dancing with Nureyev and Fonteyn are two of the four new colours from a-england's Ballerina Collection. This collection is inspired by one of the greatest classical ballet dancers, Margot Fonteyn. I don't profess to be a fan of ballet but it always takes my breath away each time I chance upon a ballet performance. The elegant dance moves and the beautifully dreamy costumes... *le sigh* Which was why I was instantly enamoured by Adina's latest releases - they are the perfect embodiment of the elegance and delicateness that I love in ballet.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/90991372@N06/11378510584/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" title="aengland-fonteyn by The Polish Well, on Flickr"><img alt="aengland-fonteyn" height="567" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3809/11378510584_cc808eb757_c.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Fonteyn.</b> 2 thin coats.<br />
The lightest silvery lilac with the most elegant linear holo. I just have no words to describe it... A true beauty befitting of its namesake.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/90991372@N06/11378511724/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" title="aengland-dancing-with-nureyev by The Polish Well, on Flickr"><img alt="aengland-dancing-with-nureyev" height="570" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7315/11378511724_ac289803a8_c.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Dancing with Nureyev.</b> 2 thin coats.<br />
A purple leaning steel blue with a strong but elegant linear holo effect. Nothing less for her dance partner, Rudolf Nureyev, who had such amazing chemistry with her on-stage.<br />
<br />
As I've come to expect of a-england, the formula of these are impeccable. Nothing short of buttery smooth application. I am sure you've heard enough to know it by now ;)<br />
<br />
So what do you think of these two shades?<br />
You know I love me some strong dark colours so I am naturally in love with Dancing with Nureyev. But Fonteyn took me by surprise and I cannot stop staring at it on my nails. So... my take on it? You definitely need them both! Besides, it would be too cruel to tear the apart, wouldn't it? ;)<br />
<br />
a-england is available in UK through their <a href="http://a-england.co.uk/" target="_blank">online store</a>. Although they do not ship internationally, they are also available through their various <a href="http://www.a-england.co.uk/where-to-buy/" target="_blank">stockists</a>, including <a href="http://meimeisignatures.com/category.php?id_category=322" target="_blank">Mei Mei's Signatures</a>! :D<br />

<br />
Happy weekend lovelies!!<br />
I am feeling especially pumped because... I AM GOING TO TAIWAN NEXT SATURDAY!! :D It will be a week long trip so I might be MIA for a while. I had wanted to schedule some posts but I am currently busy with the packing and settling other matters before the trip. I really shouldn't have procrastinated ><<br />
Anyone else going away for a year-end trip too? ;)<br />
<br />
Today, I have a new-to-the-blog indie brand to share with all of you - Mod Lacquer! I first chanced upon Mod Lacquer on Instagram. The cute bottle shape and gorgeous colours caught my eyes so when I was offered the chance to do a review for Jennifer, I was over the moon! Just take a look:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KrqU0fzPwMY/Uq1CiLwf5-I/AAAAAAAAC8A/FUu85gMnhOM/s1600/mod-lacquer1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="484" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KrqU0fzPwMY/Uq1CiLwf5-I/AAAAAAAAC8A/FUu85gMnhOM/s640/mod-lacquer1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/90991372@N06/11378585123/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" title="mod-lacquer-goblin1 by The Polish Well, on Flickr"><img alt="mod-lacquer-goblin1" height="552" src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5496/11378585123_caf45231b5_c.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Goblin.</b> 3 thin coats.<br />
A gorgeous olive green to chocolate brown duochrome complete with sprinkles of holographic sparkles. I really <i>love</i> this one. The colours are rich and the shift is strong. The name is really apt for the colours too!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/90991372@N06/11378451475/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" title="mod-lacquer-revenant by The Polish Well, on Flickr"><img alt="mod-lacquer-revenant" height="575" src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5530/11378451475_9eb9b5393e_c.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

<br />
<b>Revenant.</b> 3 thin coats.<br />
A beautiful shimmery blue base filled with scattered holographic sparkles with a flash of dreamy pink at certain angles. I love a good blue but the pink shift really makes this unique. *swoon*<br />
<br />
Application for these Mod Lacquers is smooth. The formula is neither thick nor runny. The brush is slightly shorter than what I am used to but I had no trouble with control and application at all.<br />
<br />
So what do you think of Goblin and Revenant?<br />
Have you tried Mod Lacquer before? Which colours are your favourites?<br />
<br />
I have more Mod Lacquers to share with you so do stay tuned for more swatches!<br />
Mod Lacquer is available on <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/ModLacquer" target="_blank">Etsy</a>. Do follow Mod Lacquer on <a href="https://www.facebook.com/ModLacquer" target="_blank">Facebook</a> and <a href="http://instagram.com/modlacquer" target="_blank">Instagram</a> for more updates!<br />

<br />
It is finally mid-week!!! *throws confetti*<br />
I have been feeling especially happy because my shipment of mini bottles was finally released by customs and I could go about filling the pre-orders placed last month! I have already sent an email to the affected customers and I must say, their responses, understanding and support totally touched my heart and blew my mind. I simply have the bestest readers and customers - I LOVE YOU ALL <3<br />
<br />
Because I am busy working on the pre-orders, I almost forgot to blog about this beauty from piCture pOlish:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gRCJURwwl2w/UqhqyiVkyVI/AAAAAAAAC7w/kH0UVU-G74U/s1600/picture-polish-shy-violet.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="544" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gRCJURwwl2w/UqhqyiVkyVI/AAAAAAAAC7w/kH0UVU-G74U/s640/picture-polish-shy-violet.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Shy Violet.</b> 4 thin coats.<br />
A warm red leaning violet filled with small scattered holographic flecks. It is bright but not quite what I would call a neon. Interestingly though, it dried slightly matte/stain initially like the usual neon polishes but by the third and fourth coat, it dried to a slight gloss. I topped it with a top coat anyway to give it a better shine - just the way I love my polishes.<br />
<br />
The formula of Shy Violet was slightly on the thin side so you will have to be careful with pooling at the sides of the nail or the cuticles. It was also a little sheer so you will definitely need at least three coats for decent coverage; I used a fourth for a deeper stronger colour.<br />
<br />
What do you think of this colour?<br />
<br />
Shy Violet is available at piCture pOlish's <a href="http://picturepolish.com.au/" target="_blank">website</a> and through its <a href="https://www.picturepolish.com.au/index.php?route=information/information&information_id=8" target="_blank">network members</a>. <br />
It's Wednesday again! Ordinarily I would be really happy because it is mid-week but I have an upcoming function this Friday that I absolutely dread so... ugh. It's Wednesday :(<br />
<br />
Unhappy function aside, I've another piCture pOlish pretty to share with you today!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ykYnj07xIzo/Up3nyiS1HQI/AAAAAAAAC7g/_6UEqBvlDR4/s1600/picture-polish-frosting.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="544" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ykYnj07xIzo/Up3nyiS1HQI/AAAAAAAAC7g/_6UEqBvlDR4/s640/picture-polish-frosting.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

<b>Frosting.</b> 2 thin coats.<br />
<br />
A sheer milky pink nude base filled with fuchsia, purple and silver hex glitters and a smattering of *gasp* silver hearts! Really sweet combination I must say! I had initially intended to go with 3 thin coats but I love that slightly sheer and delicate look at 2 coats so I didn't go further than that.<br />
<br />
The formula of this one is slightly tricky. The base is slightly thicker than the other piCture pOlish shades to hold up those heavy heart glitters but not completely unmanageable. I might thin it a little the next time I use it though. I also gave my bottle a few hard shakes to loosen the glitters before application.<br />
<br />
So what do you think of this collaboration shade with Michelle of <a href="http://www.cosmeticcupcake.com/" target="_blank">Cosmetic Cupcake</a>? I must say I am really loving the collaboration shades done by piCture pOlish!<br />
p.s. they have released some new shades and Bewitch is... *swoon*<br />
<br />
Frosting is available at piCture pOlish's <a href="http://picturepolish.com.au/" target="_blank">website</a> and through its <a href="https://www.picturepolish.com.au/index.php?route=information/information&information_id=8" target="_blank">network members</a>. <br />
Today, I have a new-to-to-this-blog indie brand to share with all of you. Like me, many of you would have heard of it through other blogs. It started recently in 2012 and quietly took the world by storm with its gorgeous creations and professional and stylish packaging. Yup, this brand is none other than ILNP (I Love Nail Polish)! I have drooled over the gorgeous swatches online and finally decided to take the plunge to buy some for myself when Barbra released a mind blowing set of holos - honestly, how could I ever resist that!?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wM71hCAMg2w/Upr5Y5tzDDI/AAAAAAAAC7I/xLQaK0eWRWo/s1600/ilnp.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wM71hCAMg2w/Upr5Y5tzDDI/AAAAAAAAC7I/xLQaK0eWRWo/s640/ilnp.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/90991372@N06/11147552385/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" title="ilnp-bottle-service by The Polish Well, on Flickr"><img alt="ilnp-bottle-service" height="516" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7295/11147552385_1e5d5a2702_c.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Bottle Service. </b>2 coats.<br />
A champagne silver nude with delicate holo sparkles and the most beautiful golden sheen. I am not usually a fan of frosty/metallic shades but this was wayyyyyyy too beautiful for me to skip it. It is certainly a plus that the brushstrokes are very minimal for this one.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/90991372@N06/11147605724/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" title="ilnp-contraband by The Polish Well, on Flickr"><img alt="ilnp-contraband" height="516" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3805/11147605724_e90e8f99e5_c.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

<br />
<b>Contraband.</b> 2 coats.<br />
A deep eggplant purple filled with electric blue shimmer flakies and micro red shimmers. This is a hell of a stunner. It even reminds me a little of Chanel Taboo - similar but not dupes. If you can't bring yourself to splurge on Taboo, this is definitely a good alternative. Even if you already have Taboo and love it, this beauty is not one to be missed. After all, one can never have enough of such vampy shades - fact. ;)<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<b><br /></b>
<b>Indie Go.</b> 2 coats.<br />
A deep brilliant blue with a slight purple shift that bursts into a beautiful holo under the sun. Simply too gorgeous. I can't even.. I am just speechless.<br />
<br />
The formula of these ILNPs are wonderful and I had no problems with application at all. It went where I wanted it to go and I had little need of clean up.<br />
<br />
So what do you think of these colours? Have you tried ILNP before? Which ones are you favourite?<br />
<br />
ILNP is available through their <a href="http://www.ilnp.com/" target="_blank">website</a>. <br />
Happy Hump Day everyone!<br />
<br />
Today, I have another gorgeous colour from piCture pOlish to share with you:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ISaVKY1C1xg/UpH9fjKmRjI/AAAAAAAAC6s/znic-5uxJps/s1600/picture-polish-sunset.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="524" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ISaVKY1C1xg/UpH9fjKmRjI/AAAAAAAAC6s/znic-5uxJps/s640/picture-polish-sunset.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Sunset.</b> 2 thin coats over white.<br />
Oops! I should have warned you to put on some shades first. My bad! Sunset is an eye-searing neon orange with just a touch of coral to make me go weak in the knees. I am thankful that it is technically summer all year round in Singapore so I always have an excuse to rock some neons though I suspect I would wear them all the same elsewhere whenever I need to brighten up my day ;)<br />
<br />
As with most neon shades, Sunset is slightly sheer and applies like a crelly. I believe it would have reached opacity on its own but I chose to wear it over white to make the colour really pop!<br />
<br />
So, do you like neon colours? When will you wear them - only in summer or all year round?<br />

<br />
Yay it is mid-week!<br />
By way of an update, I have already mixed up enough polish to fill most of the pre-orders for the <a href="http://thepolishwell.blogspot.com/2013/11/the-polish-well-catching-fire.html" target="_blank">Catching Fire collection</a>. I am expecting a shipment of the mini bottles today and I will be able to start pouring and packing them - hopefully by the end of the week! I also aim to get the <a href="http://thepolishwell.blogspot.com/2013/11/the-polish-well-christmas-duo.html" target="_blank">Christmas duos</a> done by this week so I can get them to you before Christmas! :D <a href="http://thepolishwell.blogspot.com/2013/11/the-polish-well-christmas-duo.html" target="_blank">Pre-orders for the Christmas duos</a> close tomorrow at 9am, SGT.<br />
<br />
Enough side tracking! Today, I have another beauty to share with you:<br />

<b>Siren Song. </b>2 thin coats.<br />
<br />
piCture pOlish's Siren Song is a beautiful seafoam green filled with micro silver glitters that give it a most delicate shimmery look. It is no secret that I love seafoam greens and this is just perfect! I must admit I love the name and the tagline too. <a href="http://www.rebeccalikesnails.com/" target="_blank">Rebecca</a> really did a great job with this one.<br />
<br />
Application is a little streaky on the first coat but it evens out on the second. The glitters tend to stick to the side of the bottle so I would recommend a good shake before application.<br />
<br />
So what do you think of Siren Song?<br />

<br /></div>
<br />
Happy weekends everyone!<br />
Even though it is a gloomy rainy Saturday, I am still riding on a high from my most amazing nail mail week - you can catch a glimpse of the pretties that I've hauled on my <a href="http://instagram.com/thepolishwell" target="_blank">Instagram page</a>.<br />
<br />
Since I can't do any swatching today, I looked through my pictures and I stumbled upon a prototype that I've made a while back during Halloween. I did not release it then because I've received a number of comments that it was more suited for Christmas! One thing led to another and before I knew it, I had mixed up another prototype to go with it as a Christmas duo.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rysEIgvl4IY/UocYNj_YVFI/AAAAAAAAC6E/Rimshe_lFBk/s1600/the-polish-well-naughty-or-nice.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="470" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rysEIgvl4IY/UocYNj_YVFI/AAAAAAAAC6E/Rimshe_lFBk/s640/the-polish-well-naughty-or-nice.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Naughty or Nice.</b><br />
A daring shade of deep berry-leaning red filled with holographic sparkles and a dash of holiday gold. Sparkly reds are Christmas classics so I simply had to try making one myself. More pictures below.<br />

<b>Trim the Tree.</b><br />
A forest green filled with yellow and hot orange / red glitters. I hardly do contrasting colours myself but this one grew on me the more I stared at it.<br />

<br /></div>
<br />
Hands up those who are excited about the upcoming Hunger Games: Catching Fire movie!! *sticks arms up and jumps around wildly*<br />
<br />
Ever since I've read the books last year, I have been completely hooked onto this series and there was no turning back. So when I found out that Catching Fire movie was scheduled for release this 21 November, I jumped right into bed that same evening and re-read the Catching Fire book in one night. Naturally, with the story swimming around in my head, my brain went on turbo mode and before I knew it, I'd already made up my mind to do a mini Catching Fire collection. :P<br />
<br />

<blockquote class="tr_bq">
Heavy white silk with a low neckline and tight waist and sleeves that fall from my wrists to the floor. And pearls. Everywhere pearls. Stitched into the dress and in ropes at my throat and forming the crown for the veil.</blockquote>
A sheer white base filled with delicate shimmers and small silvery holo glitters. I nearly tore my hair out in frustration trying to capture this colour accurately. None of my pictures does it any justice. The glitters are more obvious and sparkly in real life. Under the light, it shimmers and glimmers with tiny holo sparkles. I am really happy with how it turned out.<br />

<blockquote class="tr_bq">
The smell of roses and blood has grown stronger now that only a desk separates us. There's a rose in President Snow's lapel, which at least suggests a source of the flower perfume, but it must be genetically enhanced, because no real rose reeks like that. As for the blood ... I don't know.</blockquote>
A delicate white base lightly tainted with red shimmers and a whiff of tiny bright red glitters. At least that is what I imagine President Snow's scent would be like in a nail polish bottle. Don't worry, I left it unscented.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<blockquote class="tr_bq">
When I open my eyes, it's early afternoon. My head rests on Peeta's arm. I don't remember him coming in last night. I turn, being careful not to disturb him, but he's already awake.<br />
“No nightmares,” he says.<br />
“What?” I ask.<br />
“You didn't have any nightmares last night,” he says.<br />
He's right. For the first time in ages I've slept through the night.</blockquote>
Oh Peeta! You make me melt ♥ No Nightmares is a light blue-grey filled with delicate sprinkles of purple and blue micro-glitter and light shimmers. A beautiful accident for I did not set out to create this colour. For some reason, it gave me a warm, safe and fuzzy feeling - just like what I imagine Katniss would feel on a night like this with Peeta.<br />
<br />

<blockquote class="tr_bq">
A flash of white runs up the wire, and for just a moment, the dome bursts into a dazzling blue light. I'm thrown backward to the ground, body useless, paralyzed, eyes frozen wide, as feathery bits of matter rain down on me. I can't reach Peeta. I can't even reach my pearl. My eyes strain to capture one last image of beauty to take with me.<br />
Right before the explosions begin, I find a star.</blockquote>
A deep blue jelly filled with silvery shimmers and micro-flakes that glow a a bright blue against the dark base. I tried very very hard to put in a lightning in the bottle but the closest I could get was how I imagine the night sky to look on the day of their break out. My camera freaked out a little from the shimmers buried in the base and I couldn't get a clearer picture of the delicate shimmery effect. You can see it on the swatchstick <a href="http://instagram.com/p/gNpzEwSXxs/" target="_blank">here</a>. 3 coats are sufficient for opacity but I used four coats in the swatch above for a deeper blue.<br />

I look down, fascinated, as my ensemble slowly comes to life, first with a soft golden light but gradually transforming to the orange-red of burning coal. I look as if I have been coated in glowing embers — no, that I am a glowing ember straight from our fireplace.</blockquote>
A sheer black base filled with glowy red glitters and copper/gold shimmers for that glowing ember look where the glitters catch the light. Not as fiery as a fire but burning within nonetheless.<br />

<a class="button white" href="http://thepolishwell.blogspot.com/p/copyright.html">Purchased By Me</a></div>
<br />
I have some serious backlog here but I didn't have time to do much swatching this weekend :( Instead, I've decided to share a twinsie post that I've done with the lovely Camila (@paintedmimi on IG) a while ago!<br />
<br />
And the star of the post? None other than... my very first Chanel - Taboo ♥<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RXNP2iWoyEU/UmuQln_wQ1I/AAAAAAAAC2Q/jUEwSUUC5Ds/s1600/chanel-taboo.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RXNP2iWoyEU/UmuQln_wQ1I/AAAAAAAAC2Q/jUEwSUUC5Ds/s640/chanel-taboo.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
To be honest, I wasn't on the hunt for Taboo in particular. Don't get me wrong. It is a gorgeous colour but the price tag always stopped me from getting any Chanels. My resolve wavered when I saw it in Hong Kong and tried it on my friend's nails (mine were painted, of course) and it was <i>love</i>. Thereafter, I hunt for it at every Chanel counter / store I came across. The prices in Hong Kong were still a bit steep at around S$30 so I took a gamble and decided to check it out at Changi Airport instead. The minute I saw that it was S$27, I crumbled, grabbed it in a heartbeat and checked out my purchase before I could stop myself. :P<br />
<br />
And I must say, I don't regret it at all! Take a look:<br />

<b>Taboo.</b> 1 glorious coat.<br />
A beautiful deep blue base packed with red shimmers and a scattering of electric blue sparks for that mysterious sultry look. Most of the time, it looks like a deep velvety purple because of the red shimmers in the blue base. Although there are several vampy shimmers in the market, Taboo manages to set itself apart from the rest. I love how the shimmers changed the overall colour. I also love how the random blue sparkles glow against the dark base. It is simply perfection ♥<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I thought Taboo couldn't get any more perfect but boy was I wrong. Application was a <i>dream</i>. The formula was buttery smooth and extremely pigmented - one coat was all it needed. The brush was also easy to control and fans out nicely for easy application. To top it all off, the bottle is an elegant square which makes storage a dream! It certainly doesn't hurt that it has a lovely Chanel logo at the top too ;)<br />
<br />
To sum up my first Chanel experience? LOVE.<br />
<br />
What do you think of Taboo?<br />
Do you have any high-end polishes? What do you think of them - are they worth the price tag?<br />

<br />
Happy Sunday everyone!<br />
So sorry for the brief absence! I had been busy with the pre-orders earlier so I didn't have the time to swatch/blog. I really ought to plan my posts in advance >< Anyway, I am happy to say that I have shipped out half of the orders and the other half are packed and ready to be mailed out this week! Keep a lookout at your inbox for email notifications with your tracking numbers!<br />
<i>Thank you for making this pre-order such a success!</i><br />
<i><br /></i>With the pre-orders out of the way, I can finally do some swatching and blogging! Boy have I missed playing with all the pretties sitting in my drawers! I have some serious backlog by now so let's jump right into it, shall we?<br />
<br />
Today, I have some pretties from a new-to-me indie brand - My Ten Friends - given to me by the lovely Denise from <a href="http://shop-dazzled.com/" target="_blank">Dazzled</a>!<br />
<br />

<br />
Oh yeaa.. They look gorgeous, don't they? My mum walked into my room when I was swatching a bunch of polishes and Astrochicken immediately caught her eye. Her taste in polish is awfully trendy and bold for a woman her age. I am so proud of her ;)<br />

A sheer yellow base packed with shimmers and a handful of red, lime green and gold glitters in various sizes. As delicious as it may look, I had a nagging suspicion that it is not actually inspired by some space cuisine. So, I had a quick look at google and viola~ The word “astrochicken” is a name given to an egg-like spacecraft imagined by Freeman Dyson, a theoretical physicist, which would be launched into space where it would hatch and move around exploring space. At least, that is what I got from <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astrochicken" target="_blank">Wikipedia</a>. The rest of the words were beyond me #_# Interesting concept huh? If it were ever constructed, I hope it would look as delicious as this polish does ;)<br />

<b>Zero-G.</b> 3 thin coats.<br />
A sheer black base that simply explodes with silver holo glittery goodness that defy gravity - from hexes to shards. One of those that give you instant galaxy nails. The base is an interesting one and I am not quite sure how to explain it. It is actually a load of tiny black particles suspended in a lightly tinted base. It is apparent on the first coat but it builds up to opacity very quickly on the second/third coat.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Application was good. Although the formula is slightly on the thick side, it is still easy to control and the glitters spread evenly on the nails without any dabbing or placement. No fishing needed to get the glitters out of the bottle either.<br />
<br />
So what do you think of these two colours? What are your favourite My Ten Friends' colours?<br />
